On Friday we all headed over to Slidell for a reception that the hospital was having in to recognize the huge honor that Granny Vi received. It was over a 2 year process and though Granny Vi was not with us in the flesh to receive the award, she did know that SMH was applying on her behalf. Though the weather was not the best and the streets in Slidell flooded, it was a great turnout. Ellyson and Aaron stayed at the hotel as I didn't want to get her out in the weather and I needed her to have a good nap as the rehearsal and dinner was that evening (though she didn't nap, little stinker). Several city politicians came as well as several resolutions and honors were read from state and local officials.
Official certificate from Guinness Book of World Records indicating that Granny Vi holds the record for most volunteer hours. |

When the reception was over we all headed back for a little rest and to get ready for the wedding festivities. We met up at the New Orleans Museum of Art for the wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal took place indoors as it was still raining outside. Elly was the flower girl and I was the Maid of Honor.

Getting her pretty bow tied by Mrs. Jennifer. Ellyson wore cousin Lily's flower girl dress from our wedding. It was so adorable on her! |
