First trip to Orlando

Well we survived our first trip to Orlando. I had to go for work and was going to be gone for 7 days, 6 nights so Elly decided to come with me. Of course we had to bring some Elly watchers with us and Aunt Angela, Auntie Chrissy and Gram Lene were able to help out and make the trip as well. Elly did great on the plane to and from Orlando (our plane was packed so she had to sit on my lap but it worked out well). She really enjoyed getting to see all my co-workers that she hears on the phone all the time and spend extra time with Aunt Angela, Auntie Chrissy and Gram Lene.

We had a few meltdowns during the trip but mostly because she was tired and not really taking long naps - even though we would try to get her too! She also went swimming for the first time with Gram Lene and I was told that she LOVED it! I hate that I missed this and can't wait to take her myself.

We are happy to be back home and hopefully getting her back on some type of schedule. She still doesn't like to sleep at night so we are trying any and everything to get her to sleep longer at night.

Here are some of the pictures from our trip. Elly didn't get to see Mickey or Minnie as when they made their surprise appearance at the convention she was either asleep for the night or out and about (and their were WAY too many people and I think she would have been overwhelmed). I can't wait to take her back when she's older (definitely not during the summer though)!

Auntie Chrissy took such good care of Elly!

Aunt Angela was so great taking care of me! I was sad to see her leave on Saturday

I think I look adorable in a crown. I might just have to get a bigger one!

Gram Lene made sure to keep me nice and clean while I was  in Orlando

Elly just talked and talked to Auntie Chrissy. They were definitely having some serious conversations

Elly was dressed up to attend the Festival of Lights closing banquet but had a little meltdown. She had all her purple on and was ready to go.

Elly's "jail" for sleeping while in the hotel. She did fairly well given the child doesn't really sleep at night.

Gram Lene was in heaven getting to spend so much time with Elly

Just missing mommy in this picture :-(

Still had to sport a little Phi Mu while at Tri Sigma's convention.

And don't forget the sailboats!

3 months old....already

I can't believe that Elly is already 3 months old. Time if flying by! She has steadily been growing and really coming into her own personality. We don't go back to see Dr. McMillian until next month so all the stats are not technically official.

Elly's Stats & Accomplishments
Weight: 10 pounds, 9 ounces
Height: 24 inches
Not sure what percentile she's in but I can say she is probably in the lower percentile for weight.
Two month recap:
Weight: 9 pounds, 13 ounces
Height: 23 inches
Sweet Baby Girl!

I love sticking my tongue out. It's a game we play.
Attributes: Her hair is still looking like it's going to be a nice auburn color. I can't wait for it to grow some more so we will know for sure. Those big eyes are still bright blue! YAY. Elly's hands and feet are getting bigger and we are hoping that some of her shoes start to fit soon. She does seem to have sweaty hands and feet so I guess it's good that they are all to big right now so her feet can air out!
Hair is slowly growing

Cute little feet!

Sweet hands!
Milestones: She has really been holding her head up well AND wants to sit up. When she's propped up or sitting/laying in the Monkey bouncer or car seat, she is lifting her head trying to sit all the way up. She's ready to take off. Elly is doing well grabbing at the toys hanging from her play mat and absolutely loves holding on to a  blanket or Lucy!

Sitting like a big girl in the Bumbo chair

Elly also LOVES to put her hands in her mouth and is drooling a lot. No teeth yet but the amount of drool coming out of her mouth surely makes you think that some teeth are coming soon. Prayers for that one! Elly talking so much more now. I think we are going to have a little social butterfly on our hands.
Yummy Hands!

Clothes: Elly is still wearing newborn clothes, though we have progressed to wearing some 3 month clothes. Other 3 months are too big and we even have 1 or 2 newborn outfits that are now too small! All of the newborn onesies have been packed away! YAY! Hopefully we will continue to grow so she can finally wear some of her cute clothes.

Though Aaron swears she will be an Auburn fan, we had to post a picture in her LSU Cutie outfit. It's a bit big but still had to support on team as they play in the College World Series. Now to get some more LSU clothes for her as she currently has more Auburn clothes, and we just can't have that.

Geaux Tigers!

Sleep Schedule: This is still a work in progress. For the most part she sleeps between 5-6 hours a night and then wakes up to eat and goes back to sleep again. On a few nights she is up about every hour and a half, looking for her pacey and then will go back to sleep. She doesn't stop moving at night and even woke up from a nap with her nightgown over her head. Such a wiggle worm. Last week, we thought our air conditioner was broken so didn't put her nightgown and just kept her in her diaper. We still put her in her sack so she would sleep and low and behold, that was one of the longest times she has slept. Since then, she doesn't sleep in a nightgown, only her diaper and a sack and seems happy about that. Elly also enjoys lounging in our bed and catching up on the news in the morning while I am getting dressed, etc. She's already taking over the bed.

Happy Father's Day

Happy First Father's Day! Ellyson is lucky to have a Daddy that love to talk with her and teach her all sorts of things (some a little over her head at the moment). She can't wait to have her daddy teach her about all kinds of sports! But most of all, she LOVES getting to sleep on her daddy or lay next to him in the bed. I think she's a bit spoiled.

She loves all the men in her life, not just her Daddy! Getting to spend time with Grampy (Aaron's Dad) and Pops (my dad), is one of her favorite things to do. She got a visit from Pops last week and really enjoyed playing with him, laughing and holding his fingers.

Finally sleeping in the crib

Well we finally moved Elly into her baby crib. Thank goodness as this child does not stop moving and wiggling at night and we really need to try to get her to sleep more at night (it was beginning to take it's toll on mommy and daddy). She has done fairly well in the crib as she spends more nights sleeping in there. The last few nights she has slept between 5-6 hours in one stretch between feedings! Yay Elly!! We are hoping that this is the start of a trend for her to sleep longer and longer at night. I have also gotten more strict with her nap schedule and she is taking a long nap in the morning and one late in the evening (1-2 hour nap) and a few shorter naps during the day (20-45 minutes). This has also seemed to help her sleeping quite a bit. The girl needs her rest.

Sleeping in her crib for a nap...with Lucy the Ladybug

Wiggled so much during her nap that her nightgown moved up over her head

Loves sleeping on my Daddy

Such a sweet daddy letting Elly sleep on him

Elly also started sitting in her bumbo chair as she has been holding her head up so well these days. She even lifts her head and tries to sit up when she is in her car seat or laying down. She's becoming such a big girl!

We have also been venturing out to dinner a little bit more after a feeding. Elly LOVES to look around and see what all is going on. She is very curious..... Recently we went to Outback and the booth they sat us in wouldn't fit her carseat. So we propped it up and she was in heaven getting to look around and watch everything. It was too cute!

Her personality has definitely begun to come through and is laughing and giggling so much more. Mornings are her best time but this video was taken one night when we were playing.
